In SJU we have some very positive news:

Our SJU Team informed me that we will have some movement coming our way.

Due to some retirements and a upcoming Flight increase we will be:

  • Having (1) CC posting going up
  • We will be utilizing our SJU Re-call list for 8 FT positions.
  • 4 FT positions will be backfills and another 4 FT positions will be an increase in headcount.
  • 9 PT positions with also be posted system wide.

At LGA we were able to resolve an issue with the company that involved a CC whose stripes had been removed.

At JFK- We have relocated to a new Union Office.

Below we need to communicate to our members the following message!

The company is aggressively discipling/Terminating our members system wide:

For A/C damages, removing Crew Chief stripes and our members need to spread the word and be advised that if they go get their cars,  drink on the job, have an accident, sleep, argue with each other or with management, curse, don’t report to your flights on time,  leave your work area without permission, use fake doctors’ notes, come to work out of uniform, late lessons, not wearing your vest or using seatbelts,  just to name some preventable actions –

IF YOU IGNORE THIS WARNING AND BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE UNTOUCHABLE – THEN SHAME ON YOU:

BECAUSE THE COMPANY IS CHANGING THEIR STRIPES AND THINGS THAT WE GOT ACCUSTOMED TO GETTING AWAY WITH CAN COST YOU YOUR JOB.

Additional advice:

Be careful how you utilize your personal social media-  Be careful with the ramp links, company apps you use on your phone as they most likely have tracking devices on them and be very cognizant of CCTV-cameras on the job.

Also: For some reason we have members who feel the need to run to management with or call the hotline with complaints about their own Brothers & Sisters.

While the Union cannot prevent members from taking such action- a word to the wise is that no good ever comes from going to management or calling the hotline as typically it just makes matters worse for everyone.
