WWC Meeting

Our WWC Meeting Was Hosted By Local 100 & Local 101 In Brooklyn This Month From 11/30 – 12/2.. We Had A Very Impactful & Inspiring 3 Days. With An Amazing Turnout Of OVER 100 Woman From All TWU Locals. I Was Excited To Welcome Fellow TWU Sister Kieanna Thompson To Her First Meeting.

Day 1 Started Out With Education About The “Pregnant Workers Fairness Act” We Learned How To Lobby For It. We All Took A Certified CPR Class Which Included Pediatric CPR & Emergency Procedures.

Day 2 Was Full Of Strong Speeches From Powerful Women. Attorney General Of N.Y. Letitia James Stood Out Among The Rest. Her Story Was Empowering .
The Directors From Montefiore Childrens Hospital Came In Person To Pick Up The Toys Collected From ALL Our LOCALS. They Were Overwhelmed With The Amount Of Toys.

Day 3 We Learned How To Get Our Paperwork In Order, In The Event Of A Death. It Was Extremely Educational. We Learned About Living Wills, Power Of Attorney , Life Insurance & What Our Companys Offer .

We Had A Full Agenda All 3 Days .I’m Looking Forward To Our Next Meeting, Local 514 In Tulsa Offered To Host In March.
