Have a Happy New Year

Re: Have a Happy New Year

On behalf of our Transport Workers Union Local 501 (Airline Division) Executive Board, we wish a Happy and Healthy New Year to all of our members, family and friends in 2019.

While we can wish for the best in the New Year, we still must be cognizant that after 3 years in Negotiations with American, we can only hope that the mediation process will help us get what we deserve in a new CBA for all of us. We need to be diligently prepared to deal with the process, if we can’t convince American together to change their concessionary and Union busting proposals. We must win this battle as it will affect and determine the future of our jobs, lively hood and Organization.

To be clear, Union Members who have elected to lay back and let others take on the fight for our rights will have no choice but to support the Union 100% if Negotiations are not resolved. Playing the fence will not be an option and your loyalty as a Union Member will be tested!

This New American smiles in your face but are committed to strategically place our members system wide into a trance of obedience. The USPS Drug Testing issue is a perfect example how the company intentionally has violated our CBA rights and tried to convince members that they have every right to do so. Think long and hard as to why the company has never taken or requested an FSC employee to take a drug test without reasonable cause while on the job until now?

What’s next?

“DON’T FALL INTO A TRANCE”

UNDERSTAND CLEARLY THAT AN INJUSTICE TO ONE IS AN INJUSTICE TO ALL!
Your Executive Board is Experienced and a Proven Leadership that serves our membership to the best of our abilities, but your trust and continued support is not enough. Not just Local 501 but ALL Transport Workers Union members need to participate and be ready to meet ALL future Union challenges together and Stand as ONE.

Let’s have a great year and make TWU Local 501 as Strong as possible, work Safe and Always Appreciate your Blessings and be proud members of the Transport Workers Union.

In Solidarity,

Victor J. Gonzalez
