Mechanic and Related/Stores Negotiations Update

Sisters and Brothers,

The Mechanic and Related and Stores Negotiating Committee met with the company the week of January 18 in Washington, D.C. During this session your committee continued discussions with the company and the following articles were discussed:

Fitness for Duty
Grievance Procedure

After several exchanges with the company, the parties have narrowed their positions on the above articles. In addition, we continued to review System Board of Adjustment.

Steady and thorough progress is being made toward a new JCBA. We are keeping in mind the best interest of the membership as we consider every detail of each article.

We are scheduled to continue negotiations in Washington next week, and the weeks of Feb. 8 at BWI, Feb. 29 at DFW, March 7 in DCA, March 21 in DFW and March 28 TBD.

In closing, your continued solidarity and support is appreciated and necessary as we move forward into the more difficult areas of JCBA negotiations. Updates to the membership will continue after each session.
